Design programmes, however, is quite different with others academic area. It weights on creativity besides technique. So once basic design techniques have been equipped, designers are rated in creativities. Creativity is an abstract concept which represents your ideas and imagination; it cannot be learned but can be trained.
The Diploma in Design programme offered by Hong Kong Raffles School of Continuing Education aims to provide basic design knowledge, skills and creativity to Form 5 level students, provide them with the real works concepts a modern designer may face. To provide the general public with clearer ideas on Design fields, Raffles organized a seminar on ˇ§Good Job, Graphic Design!ˇ¨ on the day of 29 Dec 2008 to introduce the career path to the target audience.
During the seminar our honorable speaker and also senior designer Mr. Julius Bodomo had introduce what design is, how design functions and what job you can choose after studies design. Since the Diploma in Design programme covers basic knowledge in Drawing, Art History, 2D & 3D, Colour Theories aspects, graduates of this programme will be able to work for Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Interior Design, Multimedia Design or product Design etc fields.
